Demographic Characteristics of Russia
As seen on the home page, demographics are very important to a country, and their chance of survival.
An age structure of a country is what goes onto the population pyramids. The Dependency load is the area from 0-15and 65+ everything in between is the work force, however different countries have different ages for the dependency load and work force.
Age structure:
0-14 years: 14.8% (male 10,644,833/female 10,095,011)
15-64 years: 71.5% (male 48,004,040/female 52,142,313)
65 years and over: 13.7% (male 5,880,877/female 13,274,173) (2010 est.)
Birthrate is 11.11 births/1,000 population
Death Rate is 16.04 deaths/1,000 population (CIA)
Their demographic stage is approximately stage 4. The Birth and Death rates are both low, however the Death rate is getting higher. Their population will be . As you can see on the picture, a population pyramid of Russia from 1995, Russia's population from the different age groups varies largely. It is clear that the work forcee is currently the one with the largest population. When that work force becomes the dependency load, there will be big problems. Below is a population pyramid from 2010 (US census)
